Molly Chanshi
A graduate of The BRIT School of Performing Arts (BTEC in Media Studies) Molly Mwape Chanshi has been working as a peer educator on Sexual Health/HIV and AIDS with various organizations for the best part of six years. Having first hand experience of living with HIV (her mother is positive) Molly has a keen interest on issues that affect young people has driven her to focus on dedicated supported and mentoring of her peers. Her passion and drive to raise awareness especially for black and ethnic minorities in relation to self esteem, sexual health, and HIV/AIDS has increased over time. She believes that through educating and raising awareness of others young people can become empowered; consequently this can contribute to the reduction of the rising epidemic of STIs/STDs and HIV/AIDS which are most prevalent amongst 16-25 year olds. Molly offers a factual upfront approach to peer education which has proven to be popular, thought provoking and effective. She is currently a sessional worker for The Red-bridge Foyer in East London, providing support for young homeless women.
